Tanker chartering
Among our partners are the largest ship owners of tankers for transporting light and dark oil products. This allows us to give our clients the best rates for chartering sea vessels, offer optimal logistics solutions, and provide a full cycle of services.
For cargo owners (charterers) planning to transport petroleum products, we offer to select the necessary vessels, tankers that meet all the required conditions of carriage, such as type of vessel (tanker), cargo capacity, etc. Chartering a tanker or chartering a vessel is the most important stage of maritime logistics or sea freight transport.
After considering various logistic options, a charter or agreement is concluded between the shipowner (charterer) and the shipper (charterer), which specifies all the important terms and conditions of the charter or transaction.
We select tankers for regular and occasional transportations, voyages to any ports and terminals of the world, time charters and voyage transportations of oil products are possible.
Types of shipping charters:
-
A bareboat charter is a lease of a vessel (tanker) without crew for a strictly fixed term.
-
Time charter is a lease contract of a tanker with crew for a fixed period of time.
-
A voyage charter is a lease of a tanker (vessel) for a single or circular voyage (from one location to another or from one location to another and back).
When the tanker is loaded, the charterer issues a bill of lading, which confirms the acceptance of the cargo on board the vessel and sends it to the charterer.
Chartering a vessel involves payment for the carriage of petroleum products. The cost of tanker freight is influenced by many factors such as length of the route, loading and unloading locations, time of year, cost of marine fuel, number of available tankers in a given geographical location and so on.
A time charter is a form of charter where the charterer, under a fixed term contract, has the right to use the tanker (vessel) in accordance with its purposes. For example, the multiple transport of EN 590 diesel fuel from storage in Rotterdam to the port of Fujairah. It is worth noting that all costs of maintaining the vessel and hiring the crew are borne by the charterer.
In a time charter, the charter term is always strictly prescribed. One month, three months, six months, one year. Voyage charter - very similar to a time charter, but involves a form of charter contract for one or more voyages. In this case, all costs of crewing and operating the vessel are also borne by the charterer.
A tanker charter provides for loading and unloading operations. For example, loading of EN 590 diesel fuel into the tanker's tanks.
Or draining from the vessel's tanks into storage, the buyer's tanker of JET A-1 jet paraffin at the end point of the voyage charter. Usually, the tanker charter contract spells out the allocation of loading or unloading costs. Depending on the agreement, the charterer or the charterer bears the costs, sometimes these costs are shared equally.
